The Burleson Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Jan. 13 to approve a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $7,356,604 for a new gymnasium and storm shelter at Mound Elementary and approved several related and procedural items.
The GMP covers construction contract costs presented by Jackson Construction and includes contractor markups, general conditions, bonds and insurance. Brian Parma of Jackson Construction summarized the recommendation: “What we are bringing to you tonight for a GMP recommendation is the $7,356,604.” The district previously procured long-lead electrical equipment in 2022 that will be used for the project and that procurement cost $431,000, staff said.
