The chamber adopted the committee report by voice vote. Presiding remarks included, “All those in favor, say aye. Aye.” Following the voice vote the clerk (or presiding officer) stated, “The committee report is adopted.”

During the committee-report reading the clerk said, pursuant to Senate Rule 23 and Senate Rule 68(b), that Senate Bill 235, which had been assigned to the Committee on Education and Redevelopment, was reassigned to the Committee on Judiciary under Senator Bray (as read into the record). The reassignment was made part of the committee-report action read on the floor.

Senators also approved author motions by unanimous consent. The presiding officer asked for consent to take the author motions in one motion; members voiced approval and the presiding officer declared the motion passed.

Several brief announcements followed routine business. Senator Holdman was recognized and asked members to caucus immediately upon adjournment. Senator Gordon warned members to avoid a hallway near certain exits when leaving the chamber. Senator Garten moved to adjourn, saying, “I move that the Senate do now adjourn until Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1:30 PM.” The motion passed and the Senate stood adjourned until that date and time.
