Sean Roehrig, public works, presented a bid award recommendation to Coastal Knitting Systems for 10 portable litter fences at a total cost of $71,512.80. Roehrig said the fences are 24 feet wide by 15 feet tall with steel mesh and outriggers to withstand gusts of up to 45 mph; they are designed to be moved by a dozer hooking onto two front‑blade hooks. Roehrig said the county received four bids ranging from $71,512 to $133,000 and recommended proceeding with the low bidder.

Roehrig also presented two facilities maintenance on‑call awards: a not‑to‑exceed contract with Core Solutions for electrical services and another not‑to‑exceed contract with Weather Guard for roof repair and maintenance, each capped at $100,000 and to be used on an as‑needed basis.

In a separate miscellaneous update, public works staff told commissioners that a side‑by‑side utility vehicle assigned to the parks department at Riverside Park was stolen on a Thursday afternoon, later abandoned and recovered in a nearby field. Police arrested a suspect and returned the vehicle and keys; staff said charges appear likely and that the incident was shared on social media.
