Alexander County commissioners approve four new road names after public hearing

Lisa Harrington, a county staff member, told commissioners the staff "requests approval of the following road names as listed below. The names meet the regulations as required. The names have been checked for duplication and sound indexing." The names presented were Grassy Creek Lane, Leland Woods Lane, Tippie Drive and Tucker Mountain Drive.
The board opened and closed the public hearing without public comment on the names. A motion to approve the road names was made and seconded; the vote "carries unanimously," according to the meeting record.
Harrington did not identify individual implementation dates in the hearing; she characterized the submission as meeting county naming regulations and duplication checks. No appeals or objections were recorded during the meeting.
