City launches ClearGov budget transparency site; finance director demonstrates drill‑down views

“We went back to fiscal year 19–20 just to provide some trending,” Johnson said during a live demonstration, and she explained the site will be updated following council budget adoption or budget amendments. The site defaults to the general fund and allows users to drill down from fund level into departments, functions and line items; it also pulls demographic context from national sources ClearGov aggregates.
Johnson said the city will post a link from the Auburn website and promote the portal to the public. She noted the portal is not updated in real time; it will refresh after formal budget actions. IT staff assisted with the live demonstration and showed how users can download data for offline analysis.
Councilmembers praised the portal as a transparency improvement. The site contains an open‑checkbook feature and downloadable reports intended to help residents and businesses review city spending and compare historical trends.
