Commercial Point council elects Nancy president pro tem, adopts 2025 rules and calendar, forms committees

Councilmember Audrea nominated Nancy for president pro tem; Nancy accepted and the council approved the nomination by voice vote. Council later voted by roll call to adopt the 2025 council rules with three edits. The approved rule changes included adding the village’s “Commercial Point Connect” (the gov app) as a published notification method and clarifying that the mayor may alter the order of agenda contents consistent with the rules (the council retained majority-vote language for substantive content additions). Council also accepted the packet of 2025 meeting dates; regular meetings will be the first Monday and Committee-of-the-Whole meetings the third Monday, with scheduling adjustments around holidays.
Council established an ad hoc Parks & Recreation Committee (Nancy, Sarah and Andrea) and reconstituted the Land Use Committee (Eric, Sarah and Ross). The rules adoption and committee appointments were decided by roll call votes. Council members discussed clarifying 4.04 (agenda modification) language before final publication and asked staff to post the calendar and rules on the village website and notification app.
