Union County Human Services board elects officers and sends two appointment recommendations to commissioners

The Union County Consolidated Human Services Board elected new officers and forwarded two member applications to the Board of County Commissioners during its Jan. 10 meeting.
For chair, the board elected Amy Dickey by voice vote after a nomination; Brandy Smith was elected vice chair and Dr. Kolash was approved to serve on the board—xecutive committee. The board approved the meeting minutes and the meeting agenda earlier in the session.
On board membership, the board voted to recommend the reappointment of a member identified in the motion as "Lisa Carter" to the Board of County Commissioners and to recommend appointment of an applicant recorded in the packet/transcript with inconsistent spellings (Noyes/Norris/Noiz Harrigan). Staff said both applications will be taken to the county commissioners at their first February meeting for final action.
Meeting procedure notes: The chair announced a minor adjustment to the agenda ction requested for item 25026; board staff said the item title remained the same but the requested action would be adjusted when considered.
The board was also offered the option to conduct interviews for applicants; staff noted interviews are not required by the board's rules and in past practice were used when there were multiple applicants for the same seat.
