The Tangipahoa Parish Council on Jan. 13 adopted a four-year renewal of a 1% parish sales and use tax and approved a slate of administrative and property actions in a series of unanimous votes.
The council adopted Ordinance No. 2455, renewing the levy and collection of a 1% sales-and-use tax on retail sales, leases and rentals, consumption and storage for use of tangible personal property and on the sale of services in Tangipahoa Parish for four years beginning Dec. 31, 2025. The ordinance passed on a 10-0 roll call.
The council also voted to accept condemnation recommendations and to file resolutions to proceed with condemnation proceedings for three properties: 11540 Wendell Lane (assessment 420-3100), 43158 Tillman Drive (assessment 1967207207) and 48445 Sibley Road (assessment 462-5501). Each condemnation-related vote passed 10-0.
