Oxnard planning commission chair asks Thousand Oaks commissioners to support stipend proposal

Araujo said his commission approved a resolution in August 2024 and that the Oxnard City Council agendized the issue for a future meeting in September. "I am requesting your support in our commission's effort to allow stipends for our members," Araujo said, adding he would be in contact with Thousand Oaks commissioners and would provide materials and suggested avenues for support by email.
Araujo told the Thousand Oaks body that Oxnard is one of two large Ventura County cities with a separate planning commission that does not provide compensation, and he asked the Thousand Oaks commission to consider backing the Oxnard resolution when it reaches Oxnard’s City Council. The Thousand Oaks commissioners did not take formal action on the request during their meeting; it was presented during the public comment period and entered into the record.
