MADISON — The Madison Board of Zoning Appeals on Jan. 13 re‑elected its officers for 2025, approved routine permit renewals, and instructed staff to send a notice that a conditional‑use permit has expired.
The board unanimously approved the minutes of the previous meeting. Members then confirmed renewals of conditional‑use permits presented to the board; the chair noted that Stuart and Kimberly Heisey asked that their conditional‑use permit be allowed to expire and that the board would record that request.
A motion carried directing the city attorney or appropriate staff to send a letter indicating that a particular conditional‑use permit is expired and that the permit holder must reapply if they wish to continue the use. The motion followed earlier staff outreach and a "last opportunity" notice tied to unpaid renewal fees, the board said.
For board leadership, members nominated and elected Scott Baldwin as chairman, Carl Eaglin as vice chairman and Ray DiBala as secretary for 2025. The board also noted that Mayor Bob Courtney recommended reappointment of Nancy Burkhart as the citizen member; the paperwork was presented at the meeting.
Board members closed the meeting after conducting routine business. No further substantive policy changes were made.
