Tupelo — At its first meeting of 2025, the Tupelo City Council approved a vendor award for work at Veterans Parks Playground, authorized disposal of surplus computer and electronic equipment, approved a $37,216 bad-debt write-off and approved several routine minutes and committee items. The council placed a development-code amendment (TA 23-1) back on the study agenda and entered executive session to discuss a potential real-property purchase; no binding action was taken in the executive session and any formal action was deferred to the councils Jan. 21 meeting.
The council voted to accept the lowest/only bidder for a city auction of vehicles and to approve surplus disposal of computer and electronic equipment, with the full list included in the meeting packet, the mayor said. Council members also approved bid award number 2024060 PR for work at Veterans Parks Playground in the amount of $133,077; the mayor said the amount is in the adopted budget.
