Nick Turner, presenting for the chartered‑clubs working group, told the governing board on Jan. 10 that the group has met nine times to review the recreation rules, regulations and membership policies (RRMPs) and produced a consensus interim report.
Turner said the group reviewed the text in detail, corrected errors, adjusted provisions to align written policy with common practice, and added options to address technology changes. He said the working group sought input from club presidents, receiving six responses and 17 suggestions, and coordinated with staff during drafting.
"The proposed changes are based on a consensus view of the working group," Turner said, explaining he did not want to present draft language that the chartered clubs committee had not yet vetted. Turner said the chartered clubs committee received the presentation on Jan. 7 and has asked staff to circulate the draft and a recording to club presidents for broader comment. Staff expects additional iterations and aims to have a draft for the Feb. 4 chartered clubs committee meeting.
Director Chattin thanked the working group for the time invested in the review. The governing board will receive the final proposed RRMP revisions after the chartered clubs committee concludes its recommendation process.
Ending: Staff will circulate the working‑group draft and presentation to club presidents, incorporate feedback and return a committee recommendation; any final rule changes will be presented to the governing board for consideration.
