At its meeting, the St. Helens Parks & Trails Commission elected Dana as chair and selected Howard as vice chair. Commissioners also voted to nominate Lucas Green to fill an open seat on the commission; the nomination will be forwarded to the City Council for final appointment.

The commission moved through nominations during the meeting. A nomination to name Dana chair was seconded and carried by voice vote. Commissioners then considered candidates for vice chair, ultimately voting to install Howard in that role.

The commission heard from Lucas Green, an applicant who described GIS experience, volunteer work and community interest in parks and ecology. Commissioners voted to nominate Green to the commission; several members noted the commission’s vote is a recommendation and that the City Council must complete the formal appointment.
