The Civil Service Merit Board on Jan. 8 approved a revised job description for the board's executive secretary and agreed to post the position in mid-January.
Jane Roberts, chair, said the search committee finalized the job description after review with the law department and MTAS. The board voted to approve the description after a motion and second; the chair called for the ayes and the job description was approved.
Committee members described a proposed timeline to post the exempt position on Jan. 17 with a 45-day window to accept applications, a committee review after the posting closes and an anticipated presentation of qualifying candidates to the board in April. The committee proposed a salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 to attract qualified candidates; classification and compensation review will follow HR procedures.
