Kenston Board elects Thomas Manning president, Beth Krause vice president; makes OSBA appointments

The Kenston Local Schools Board of Education elected Thomas Manning president and Beth Krause vice president during its organizational meeting on Jan. 13, 2025. Board members completed the required oaths of office immediately after the roll-call votes.

The elections took place at the start of the organizational meeting called to order Jan. 13. With one nominee for president, the board closed nominations and held a roll-call vote; Manning was sworn in as president. A subsequent vote chose Krause as vice president and the board administered the vice-presidential oath.

The board also designated its standing representatives to the Ohio School Boards Association. The board named Beth Krause as the district’s legislative liaison to the Ohio School Boards Association and Jim Henry as the student achievement liaison. Manning will serve as the district delegate to the OSBA conference with Krause as alternate. The board reviewed and approved its regular meeting schedule for 2025 and the date for the 2026 organizational meeting within the schedule adopted.

Board members conducted the votes as part of the organizational agenda that included standard appointments and authorizations. The roll-call votes on the organizational items were recorded by the meeting clerk and recorded as approved during the session.

The board signaled no further debate on these items and moved on to other agenda business, including presentations on district communications and safety initiatives.
