The MAPS Citizens Advisory Board recommended approval of final plans and specifications to advertise for bids for additional improvements to the MAPS 3 Senior Health and Wellness Center.

Michael Segrove of GSB presented proposed work at the YMCA-operated facility, describing a southeast-corner expansion to add four outdoor pickleball courts with a center dividing fence, benches, trash receptacles and accessible approaches. The base bid estimate presented was about $544,000; alternates to include sunshades, lighting fixtures and an electrical extension from the building were estimated at roughly $300,000. The project construction budget in the materials was listed as $550,000 and the presenter said the project was approximately $58,100 under budget relative to that figure.

The consultant said pre-bid activities are planned for later this month, bids will be sought in February, and construction would be scheduled to start in March with completion expected in July. The board voted to approve the recommendation to advertise the plans for bid; the transcript does not record mover/second names or a roll-call vote tally.
