Wayland introduces new director for School Community Programs

She detailed operational progress over her first three months, including securing elementary-school classroom space for programs, expanding enrichment offerings and stabilizing staffing through partnerships with Regis College and other local colleges.
Hubera said she conducted parent and staff surveys to gather needs and noted the program had increased enrollment (she cited 65 new registrants in one period) and expanded Super Wednesday and vacation programs. She emphasized efforts to add inclusion mentors and nursing coverage where needed and described plans to grow summer (Pegasus) capacity while maintaining quality.
Hubera proposed forming a community advisory board to create regular two-way communication with families and staff and to guide program design. She said work on budget familiarization is underway with central office staff and that administrators will propose a program budget and summer plan for committee consideration.
Committee members thanked Hubera for the work completed in a short time and asked for regular updates; several members praised efforts to increase accessibility for students with special needs and to stabilize year-round staffing.
