The Spring Hill Beer Board approved an off‑premises beer permit for a Circle K convenience store at 1001 Jim Warren Parkway in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
The board’s approval followed brief testimony from Mark Whitty, who identified himself as the district manager for Circle K. Whitty described the chain’s precautions to prevent sales to minors, saying employees complete mandatory online training before working the register and that the store enforces a “no‑one over 40” policy — meaning clerks card anyone who appears under that age. "All employees have to go through mandatory training before they're even allowed to start on the register," Whitty said. He added that managers can review video and transaction dates to coach or remove employees who repeatedly enter the same false birth date.
Alderman Fitter asked whether Whitty understood that violations of the permit can lead to penalties up to revocation. Whitty replied, "Yes, sir." The board then moved to a vote.
Vice Mayor Pomeroy moved to approve the permit; Alderman Murray seconded. The board approved the request by voice vote; the meeting record shows an "aye" with no opposition recorded. The board chair handed the permit to Whitty at the meeting.
The item appeared to be the sole agenda matter for the beer board meeting, which concluded immediately after the permit was issued.
