CMCSS seeks state approval to continue peer-assistant leadership and military-history courses

Dr. Shana Dowdy told the board that two special courses — Peer Assistant and Leadership and Military History — currently offered in Clarksville-Montgomery County School System high schools will be submitted to the Tennessee Department of Education for state approval. She said the state publishes an annual list of courses; anything outside that list requires a district request each year.
Dowdy presented course standards and explained that state approval would allow the district to continue offering the classes. The presentation was recorded as a first read; no formal vote was taken during the meeting.
