The Yakima City Parks and Recreation Commission elected a chair and a vice chair and approved corrected minutes from its Dec. 11 meeting during its Jan. 8 meeting.
The commission nominated and approved Rod as chair and Stacy as vice chair by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript. The commission then reviewed the Dec. 11 meeting minutes and moved to change Commissioner Gib’s attendance from “absent” to “present.” The motion to approve the minutes with that change passed by voice vote with ayes recorded and no opposition announced.
The commission opened the meeting for public comment and recorded that no members of the public were present to comment. Staff invited residents to attend future meetings on the second Wednesday of each month if they wish to provide public input.
The election and minutes approval were the opening procedural items; commissioners moved on to substantive agenda items after those votes.
