A staff member said the district’s schools will be open the day after the meeting and that the transportation department will contact families about centralized pickup locations where needed.
The staff member told listeners that crews had been out driving and clearing roads and that custodial and maintenance teams had cleaned parking lots and sidewalks. “My transportation department's been out. I wanna really commend our city and our county for getting the roads cleaned, our custodial maintenance staff for getting our parking lots and sidewalks clean. Things look to be in fairly good shape,” the staff member said.
On scheduling, the staff member said, “We are going to school tomorrow, on time, but there will be some centralized pickups, and our, transportation department will be in touch with you if if that's the case for you.” The speaker added that conditions would not be perfect and urged families to take extra time traveling: “But we want you to be safe. Things are not gonna be perfect. But take your time, be safe, and we look forward to seeing all of our students in our school buildings tomorrow.”
The remarks were given as operational information rather than as a formal action or vote; the staff member indicated transportation staff would follow up directly with affected families to arrange pickup points.
