National Mentoring Month: Supervisor Madrone read a proclamation recognizing January 25, 2025, as National Mentoring Month and praised Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast, CASA of Humboldt and Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods for mentoring programs. Several speakers from the community, including Jean Gordon of CASA of Humboldt and volunteers, thanked the board. Arcata High School proclamation: Supervisor Wilson presented a proclamation congratulating the Arcata High School Tigers for winning the 2024 CIF Division 6-AA state championship — the first football state championship in the school’s history.
