The school board completed its annual reorganization for the 2025 calendar year and elected Rob Daniels to serve as board president.
During the reorganization portion of the meeting a board member nominated Rob Daniels to serve as president. The nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records members saying “aye” and “the ayes have it.” Daniels presented a proposed slate that named Mr. Russell as vice president and Scott Alexander as secretary, with Jane Dunnigan Smith and Amy Counts as members of the board leadership team. Daniels said he had discussed responsibilities with each board member prior to presenting the slate.
The board also reviewed and approved the proposed 2025 board meeting dates after a short discussion about scheduling for an early January organizational meeting. The meeting dates were approved by voice vote.
The board recognized outgoing leadership, presented a plaque to Amy Counts for her service and conducted the customary brief remarks and photos. No contentious debate occurred during the reorganization; motions were adopted by voice vote.
