During the Jan. 9 meeting of the Decatur Architectural Review Board, members moved and approved placing the election of a new chair and vice chair on the board’s Feb. meeting agenda.
Board members discussed term limits and the timing of an election after noting that one member, Ellis, was not present. Board members said the board ordinance allows the chair to serve consecutive terms in certain circumstances and that the regular term length is one year; members agreed to postpone final selection until the Feb. meeting, allowing Ellis time to attend or to confirm availability.
A board member moved to place the election on the February agenda; another member seconded. The motion was approved with vocal assent from those present. The transcript records the roll call earlier in the meeting establishing members present, and the motion language to schedule the election appears in the public record portion of the hearing.
Later the board moved, seconded and voted to adjourn; that procedural motion also carried with vocal assent from those present.
