On the organizational day, the Senate Taxation Committee voted to authorize proxy voting for the remainder of the legislative session.

Senator Wendy McKamey moved that the committee "accept proxy forms as in this committee." The chair put the question to a voice vote; committee members present responded "aye," and the chair recorded no nay votes. The committee adopted proxy voting for the session.

The committee secretary and staff reminded members that if proxy voting is authorized it is recorded in the hearing record and remains in effect unless the committee subsequently changes the rule. The chair also told members to submit completed proxy forms to their appropriate chairs.
