Lobbyists introduce Montana Family Foundation and county association to House Judiciary

Patrick Webb, Derek Oestreich (chief legal counsel and director of government affairs) and representatives from the Montana Family Foundation said they will be active in committee hearings on topics including life, religious liberty, marriage and family, and school choice. Derek Oestreich identified himself and spelled his name for the record.
Karen Alley, associate general counsel for the Montana Association of Counties, said MACT (Montana Association of Counties) will appear when local-control or jail issues arise and that members should expect to see county commissioners and staff in the halls to assist the committee. Ravalli County Commissioner Greg Chilcutt introduced himself for the record and said counties want to “stay in our lane” and be a resource on matters affecting counties.
Why it matters: These groups represent organized interests likely to appear before the committee on particular policy areas; staff and legislators noted they will be available as resources on relevant issues as the session develops.
