The North Carolina House of Representatives concurred with Senate Joint Resolution 2 on Jan. 8, 2025, to adjourn the 2025 regular session to a date certain. The special message from the Senate placing the joint resolution on the House calendar was read on the floor.

Representative John Bell explained the resolution as a motion to adjourn the organizational festivities and allow the chamber to complete preparatory business ahead of the session. The clerk recorded 104 affirmative votes and no negatives on the second reading; the third reading passed by voice vote. The House adopted the motion to adjourn and set reconvening for Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., subject to the standard stipulation in Rule 15.1.

The resolution was ordered enrolled and the enrolling clerk noted the joint resolution as duly ratified and prepared for presentation to the secretary of state.
