Committee recommends confirmation of 9 commission appointments to full council

The Housing and Human Services Committee on Jan. 8 voted unanimously to recommend confirmation of nine appointments across four advisory commissions. Chair Cathy Moore moved the recommendations and the roll call votes recorded all four committee members present voting in favor.
The committee approved the following recommended confirmations and will forward them to the Jan. 14 City Council meeting for final action:
- Appointments 3035–3037 (Disabilities Commission): reappointment of Shelby Day, reappointment of Jessica Lowe and appointment of Jacqueline Peguero for terms to April 30, 2026. Committee vote: Council President Nelson — Aye; Council member Rink — Aye; Council member Saka — Aye; Chair Cathy Moore — Aye. Outcome: recommendation carries (4–0).
- Appointments 3038–3040 (Seattle Human Rights Commission): appointment of Anika Khan, Komudi Fadake and Radhika Joshi for terms to July 22, 2026. Committee vote: Council President Nelson — Aye; Council member Rink — Aye; Council member Saka — Aye; Chair Cathy Moore — Aye. Outcome: recommendation carries (4–0).
- Appointments 3042–3043 (LGBTQ Commission): appointment of Barry Fuentes to a term to Oct. 31, 2026, and Jason Self to a term to April 30, 2026. Committee vote: Council President Nelson — Aye; Council member Rink — Aye; Council member Saka — Aye; Chair Cathy Moore — Aye. Outcome: recommendation carries (4–0).
- Appointment 3044 (Seattle Women's Commission): appointment of Hannah Glover for a term to July 1, 2026. Committee vote: Council President Nelson — Aye; Council member Rink — Aye; Council member Saka — Aye; Chair Cathy Moore — Aye. Outcome: recommendation carries (4–0).
Procedural notes: For each set of appointments the chair moved and the motion was seconded; the clerk called the roll for a recorded recommendation to confirm. The committee recorded no oppositions or abstentions and transmitted the committee recommendations to the Jan. 14 full council meeting for final confirmation.
Ending: The committee’s recommendation will be considered by the full City Council on Jan. 14; the committee did not take final confirmation action at the Jan. 8 meeting.
