The board ratified bids for lighting improvements at Albany High School’s baseball and softball fields, awarding the project to GeoSport Lighting Systems at a low bid of $399,800.

Gene Halsall, the professional of record with Alvin Fairburn & Associates, told trustees the December 19 bid opening produced GeoSport Lighting Systems as the low bidder for “all new lights and poles” at both varsity fields. Trustees discussed safety concerns at the existing fields and accepted the recommendation to ratify the low bid.

The board voted to ratify the bid by motion and voice vote and instructed staff to proceed with contract execution and project scheduling.
