Griffith school board elects Tina Adams president, adopts committee assignments

The Griffith Public Schools Board of School Trustees unanimously elected Tina Adams president and approved a slate of officer and committee assignments at its regular meeting.
The board selected Kathy Ruskin as first vice president, Emily Connor as second vice president, Jesse Aduchi as secretary and Jason Jaques as assistant secretary. Board members also approved committee and liaison assignments: Tina Adams as Griffith Park Board representative; Kathy Ruskin as school board legislative liaison; Emily Connor as member of the board negotiation team; and Jason Jaques as the town redevelopment committee representative.
Board members moved and seconded the slate and approved it by voice vote. The slate and committee assignments were presented and discussed at the start of the meeting during the reorganization portion of the agenda.
The appointments place named trustees in representative roles the board uses to coordinate with town and park officials, labor-negotiation teams and legislative contacts. No dissenting votes were recorded during the roll call by voice.
The board will carry those assignments into its committee work for the coming year and referred routine committee business to the respective representatives.
