Planning Board approves voluntary merger of two Tax Map parcels (225/54 and 225/55)
Summary
The Planning Board approved a petitioner-requested voluntary merger of Tax Map 225, Block 54 and Tax Map 225, Block 55. The board noted that once merged the parcels cannot be divided without board review.
The Swansea Planning Board approved a voluntary merger Jan. 9 requested by Edward and Michelle Mac to combine Tax Map 225, Block 54 and Tax Map 225, Block 55. The applicants asked the board to merge the two contiguous lots; a board motion to approve the merger was made and seconded and the board voted to approve.
The board noted the permanent nature of the merger: once the lots are merged the owners must come back to the planning board and follow subdivision or other procedures if they later seek to divide the property. One commenter noted the owner had indicated tenants’ leases and potential future demolition of an on-site house may be part of property plans.
