Ogden School Board swears in John Peterson; elects Joyce Wilson president and Arlene Anderson vice president

The Ogden City School District board opened its first 2025 work session by swearing in newly appointed board member John Peterson and then holding officer nominations.
Board members nominated Joyce Wilson for board president; a motion to nominate Wilson was seconded and the board approved the nomination by voice vote. Arlene Anderson was nominated for vice president, seconded and likewise approved by voice vote. Board members noted that Amber was joining the meeting virtually.
District staff also reported that a previously elected board member who won in November had vacated a two-year seat because of an out-of-town job offer; staff said the district is advertising that vacancy and plans to hold interviews on Jan. 20 and Jan. 30.
The swearing-in was ceremonial; the board then continued with agenda items including staff briefings on compensation and community partnerships.
