David Douglas board accepts fiscal-year audit, auditors report no major findings

The David Douglas School Board voted unanimously Wednesday to accept the district udit for the most recent fiscal year after auditors reported clean financial statements and no material weaknesses.
David Bledsoe, an audit supervisor with Polyrodgers & Co., presented the audit summary to the board and told members the district—inancial statements were reconciled and the audit identified no management-letter items requiring board action. He also said the auditors had completed federal single-audit testing for federal awards including child nutrition, ESSER pandemic-era funds, and early intervention programs.
After presentation and brief discussion, a board member moved to accept the audit; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call. The board members recorded as voting aye were Barrow, Ender, Virginia Lopez, Franklin, Camara Josen, Steens and Nguyen. The report will be posted with the district financial documents as provided by the business office.
Pat (business office) and the audit team were thanked by board members for their work on the report, which the auditor described as "about 240 pages." No management letter or significant control weaknesses were identified in the auditors' report.
