The Yuma Union High School District governing board on Jan. 8 approved a revision to the district’s compensation packet that changes the salary grade for social workers from grade 6 to grade 2 for social workers hired after Jan. 8, 2025.

A district presenter said the change resulted from a comparison of social worker salaries within the region and across the state and is intended to bring the district more in line with other districts. The presenter also said social workers will continue to receive Prop 301 funds in addition to the revised salary grade.

The motion to approve the revised compensation packet was moved and seconded and recorded as carrying unanimously.
