Blair County Commissioners on Jan. 9 approved payment numbers 4 and 5 to HRI for the County Roads 105 and 105A rehabilitation projects: $221,277.13 (payment No. 4) and $345,049.69 (payment No. 5), county highway staff reported.
Highway Department staff said crews completed seasonal work and will return in the spring to finish the milling and overlay portions of the project. "They do, have to do the milling and overlay of the road yet," a highway representative said.
The commissioners moved and approved the payments by voice vote; no recorded opposition was noted at the meeting. The county did not provide a revised overall contract total during the discussion.
Commissioners acknowledged staff workload and recognized a county employee who had been performing duties across highway and facilities divisions during the winter work period.
