Hawaiian Gardens plans pickleball grand opening; residents recognized for holiday decorating

City staff announced Jan. 8 that the City of Hawaiian Gardens will hold a grand opening for newly installed pickleball courts on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Sea Riverly Activity Center.
Staff said the city partnered with the nonprofit Pickleball Cares for the event; the nonprofit will host free youth clinics for children ages 7 to 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. and open play beginning at 12 p.m. Staff said there will be music and light refreshments at the event.
