He reported neighboring entities pay between $14 and $18.50 per hour and noted local employers such as fast-food chains advertised starting rates near $17 per hour.
Rapp recommended increasing the summer-help rate to $17.25 to be competitive without being the highest in Bucks County. The positions are budgeted in the facilities department under "other salary and benefits" and are intended for people aged 16 or older. Board members and a public commenter asked about hours; the administration said hours vary but can be up to 32 hours per week depending on assignment.
Committee members supported the higher rate and asked the administration to consider increasing the number of positions in future years if demand rises. Administration said it would return with any necessary recruitment details and to confirm how the positions are posted.
