The Common Council adopted Resolution 2024-11, which amends the City of Decatur employee handbook dated Jan. 1, 2018, to change vacation accrual timing and raise per diem allowances.

A staff member said the only edits were updates to the vacation schedule and an increase to per diem: an additional $20 for daily per diem and $60 for overnight per diem. The staff presentation also said employees will begin accruing vacation sooner under the revised schedule.

Council members introduced the resolution by short title, moved to pass it and voted unanimously in favor.

Ending: The resolution was passed on first consideration; staff will incorporate the revised handbook language into the official personnel manual.
