The measures were adopted by voice votes during the regular meeting at Macedonia City Hall. Council also completed its annual officer elections and committee assignments before moving to an executive session under Ohio law.
Chief Ripley told council the ordinance changing the non‑union compensation schedule would formally allow more part‑time inspectors. “This just increases the number of part time inspectors we have,” he said, explaining the fire prevention bureau currently has one full‑time 40‑hour inspector and has been using part‑time staff for inspections, fire investigation, preplanning and public education. Council voted to adopt Ordinance No. 12025, which the clerk posted according to law.
