Land and Water committee sends Callahan/Mud Lake district report to county board; one parcel removed from boundary

The Sawyer County Land, Water and Forestry Committee approved sending the hearing record and findings on the proposed Callahan and Mud Lake Lake District to the county board, and recommended removing one parcel from the district boundary after identifying a legal-description error.
County Administrator Tony told the Administrative Committee the land-and-water committee had voted to send the report and its recommendation to the full board for consideration. "The Land, Water, Forestry Committee did approve sending the report from the hearing that was held in November to the board this month," Tony said, describing the next procedural step.
Tony said staff prepared an online map showing district boundaries, included parcels, petition signatures and requests from some parcel owners to be removed from the district. The committee recommended removing a single parcel because of an error in the legal description; other removal requests were left for the county board to review.
Tony warned the Administrative Committee to expect public correspondence and comment as the county board considers the district matter. No final board action was taken at the Administrative Committee meeting; the item will proceed to the county board with the committee's recommendation and accompanying hearing materials.
