The Dunedin City Commission on Jan. 9 approved Resolution 25-01, authorizing an interfund loan of $5,000,000 from the city's fleet fund to the general fund to cover storm-related costs from hurricanes Helene and Milton.
City Finance Director Les Tyler said the loan will address immediate cash-flow needs for debris removal, repairs to city property and other hurricane-related expenses while reimbursements from FEMA and the state proceed. "This item is established an interfund loan of $5,000,000 between our city's internal service fund fleet fund to our city's general fund for the storm damage we incurred for the two hurricanes, Helene and Milton," Tyler said.
