Lake County supervisors appoint residents to multiple advisory boards; several items continued to next week

The Lake County Board of Supervisors appointed residents to a slate of advisory boards and committees during discussion of agenda item 7.5, and deferred several district-specific nominations for consideration next week.
The board approved appointments across multiple advisory bodies, including the Animal Control Advisory Board, Emergency Medical Care Committee, Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee, Hartley and Lower Lake cemetery districts, the Lake County Resource Conservation District, the Library Advisory Board, the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Advisory Board, the Scotts Valley Community Advisory Council (municipal advisory council), Spring Valley CSA No. 2 advisory board and the Western Region Town Hall reappointments. Several vacancies from District 1 and one Fish and Wildlife vacancy were continued to the following meeting.
The appointments were routine and unopposed. For example, the board voted to appoint Janice Hornby (District 4) and Lynn Carey Grama (District 3) to the Animal Control Advisory Board; the motion carried with all supervisors voting aye. The board also approved the reappointment or appointment of Ashley Gengrosso, Katie McNoli and Janelle Rivera to the Emergency Medical Care Committee as listed in staff materials; that motion carried unanimously.
On fish and wildlife matters, the board appointed Richard Hinchcliffe (District 4), Stephen Mayfield (District 5) and Peggy O'Day to the conservation slot on the Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee; one candidate (Justin Radcliffe) was noted to be completing an application and will be brought back next week for a district-specific slot. In cemetery matters, Nancy Hudson (incumbent) and Denise Grama were appointed to the Hartley Cemetery District; Christine Flora was appointed to the Lower Lake Cemetery District (District 2).
The board appointed Randall Cragg (District 3) and Shula Shupe (District 2) to the Lake County Resource Conservation District and continued two other applicants from District 1 to the next meeting. For the Library Advisory Board, Janet Melton (District 5) and Carl Porter (District 4) were appointed, with at least one District 1 vacancy continued for future recruitment.
Other appointments approved without public comment included Soledad Aguayo, Samantha Bond and Nicole Carreri to the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Advisory Board; Jody Altick, Jared Hendricks and Cornelia Siebert Davis to the Scotts Valley Community Advisory Council; James McDowell, Helen Mitcham, Edward Smith and Cindy Storrs to Spring Valley CSA No. 2; and Thomas Estevez, Linda Alexander, Lisa Benavides and Claudine Pedrinselli to the Western Region Town Hall roster. Board members announced they will return remaining district 1 items and the outstanding Fish and Wildlife application at next week’s meeting.

Board members opened the floor to public comment on several items but reported no members of the public spoke for those items. Supervisors noted that a handful of district-specific seats (primarily District 1) remain open and will be returned for action next Tuesday when additional applications are expected. The board closed item 7.5 after the roll call votes.
