Stow City Council elects Feldman president, Riehl vice president and Beranek pro tem in unanimous organizational votes

Stow City — The Stow City Council unanimously elected Kyle Andrew Feldman president of the council during its organizational meeting on Jan. 2, 2025, and also named Ward 1 Councilman Matt Riehl vice president and Councilman Beranek president pro tem, the council recorded.
The nominations came during the council's organizational agenda. Councilman Matt Riehl nominated Feldman for president, saying, "I nominate Kyle Andrew Feldman to be president." The nomination was seconded and a motion was made to close nominations and "cast the unanimous ballot for Kyle Feldman," which passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
After taking the gavel, Feldman thanked fellow council members, saying, "I appreciate, appreciate your confidence, all of councils. I appreciate, your prayers the past couple weeks. I'm I'm on the mend, so, I'm I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine and my schedule." He said he looked forward to continuing work aligned around shared values for the municipality.
For vice president, the council nominated Ward 1 Councilman Matt Riehl. A motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Riehl passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
Councilman Beranek was nominated and, after a roll-call vote, was elected president pro tem by unanimous ballot. During the organizational portion of the meeting, Feldman said he did not see a need to change committee appointments but invited any council member with strong preferences to email him for potential adjustments.
No ordinances, resolutions, contracts or budget items were acted on at the meeting. The council moved to adjourn after the organizational business; the motion to adjourn carried by unanimous voice vote.
