Norfolk Public Schools swears in three newly elected board members

Why it matters: New board members change the composition of the panel that sets district policy, hires the superintendent and adopts the division's budget. The swearing-in completed the formal step required before the board could proceed to choose leadership and begin organizational business.
Paulson briefly acknowledged the ceremony and thanked supporters after taking the oath. Sarah DeCagliaro and Alfreda Thomas each offered short remarks to attendees after signing their oaths; DeCagliaro thanked voters for their support and Thomas addressed residents of her ward by name.
