Council appoints governance committee members after interviews and executive session

Following public interviews on Jan. 8 and an executive-session review, the Essex Junction City Council appointed seven residents to the municipal governance committee and set the membership term to expire upon the committee’s completion of its work or on Nov. 1, 2025.

Lede: The council heard brief interviews from three candidates for the governance committee (Thomas Cullen, Dennis Cherushansky, and Marlon Verasamy). After the council entered executive session, members returned to public session and moved to appoint the following seven people to the governance committee: Steve Eustace, Deb McAdoo, Candace Morgan, Brian Sheldon, Gabrielle Smith, Marlon Verasamy and Thomas Cullen.
