Warren County Fiscal Court approves road additions, equipment purchases and appointments

Warren County Fiscal Court on Thursday approved a series of routine orders, procurement determinations and reports, voting unanimously on minutes, personnel changes, road adoptions, equipment purchases and claims payment.

The court approved minutes from its Dec. 19, 2024 meeting and personnel changes for county departments. It granted second and final reading to ordinances establishing several subdivision streets as county roads (Ordinance 2440, Ordinance 2441 and Ordinance 2442) and authorized maintenance and speed limits for those roads. The court also approved a first reading of an order (referred to in the minutes as Order 2501) to establish additional Breckenridge Subdivision streets as county roads.

Procurement and capital items approved included an emergency determination to JLH Mechanical for $79,091 to replace one boiler at SkyPac; a $39,500 award to Southeast Banking System to install bullet-resistant windows, intercoms and secure pass-throughs at jail public windows paid from regional jail canteen funds; a $39,900 purchase from Gary Force Honda for a 2024 Honda Ridgeline Sport for the drug task force; and a $395,702.81 purchase from Motorola for radios for multiple county departments. The court also approved a $15,660 purchase from BG Win Electric for 10 LED sport light fixtures for the inline hockey and pickleball courts at Basil Griffin Park, noting the purchase is on a state price contract.

Other approvals included the county’s 211 report for December 2024, approval of oil and limestone property tax receipts submitted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, an easement to create a school bus turnaround at 990 Kelly Harris Road and a reappointment (Order 2501) of Mac Jefferson to the Intermodal Transportation Authority board. The court received and approved the quarterly ARPA funding report for the Hobson House.

Treasurer Chandler presented claims for payment across funds: general fund $1,001,831; road fund $691,791; jail fund $355,393; stormwater fund $59,419; LGEA fund $11,250; and grant fund $103,260. A motion to pay the claims was approved by roll call.
