The LaSalle County Committee on Appointments, Legislation and Rules voted on Jan. 9 to change its regular meeting time from 1 p.m. to 9 a.m., approved a motion to dispense with the previous meeting minutes and adjourned after a brief, procedural session.
Don Jensen, the committee chairman, opened the meeting at 12:32 p.m. and announced there were no citizen comments. The committee first approved a motion to dispense with the minutes of its previous meeting; the motion was moved by Mr. Gadsda and seconded by Mr. Small and carried without recorded opposition.
The committee then considered a motion to change its regular meeting time from 1 p.m. to 9 a.m. Mr. Wallace asked whether the proposed time change had been reviewed by the committee and whether there had been prior discussion; the chair said the committee could discuss it before voting. After no further discussion, the committee called the question and approved the time change. At the voice vote one member, identified as Craig, voted nay.
A roll call later in the meeting recorded members present as Mr. Aspinski, Ms. Bernal, Mr. Small, Ms. Bray, Mr. Gadsett and Don Jensen. The committee then moved to adjourn — a motion by Mr. Gadsda, seconded by Ms. Bray — and the motion carried.
The changes are procedural and will alter the committee's regular start time going forward; no additional policy actions or substantive agenda items were taken during the session.
