Monongalia County commissioners approve organizational slate, routine appointments and multiple requisitions

At its Jan. 8 organizational meeting the Monongalia County Commission elected its 2025 leadership, adopted procedural rules, approved routine appointments and county requisitions, and set a public-notice process for a proposed TIF boundary amendment.
Jeff Arnette was elected president of the Monongalia County Commission and Tom Bloom was named president pro tem during the commission’s organizational meeting on Jan. 8, 2025.
The commission adopted Robert’s Rules of Order as a reference for parliamentary procedure and approved modest amendments to the county’s rules of procedure, including adding a President Pro Tempore role and clarifying remote participation guidance. Commissioners also approved the commission’s 2025 meeting and holiday schedules and the board of review and equalization calendar.
In consent and personnel business the commission approved minutes and vouchers as presented by County Administrator Reneta McClure, accepted three sheriff’s office personnel appointments and approved other routine appointments and reappointments, including the reappointment of Wes Nugent to the Mountain Line Transit Authority.
The commission approved two requisitions from the University Town Center (UTC) administrative expense funds for Municap invoices totaling $13,881.25 and reapproved routine board appointments. Commissioners also…
