The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners voted to pursue an agreement with Lyle Construction to serve as construction manager for a courthouse remodel and related projects, ranking Nabholz second and Key third as alternates.
Commissioner Burrows, who led a discussion of the three firms, said the firmspresentations were "very impressive" and recommended ranking them with Lyle as the countys first choice. "With that, Ill make a motion that we pursue an agreement with Lyle to be the construction management for the courthouse and other projects that will be related to the courthouse remodel," he said. The motion carried on a voice vote.
The board instructed staff to attempt to reach contract terms with Lyle and, if the county and Lyle cannot agree, to pursue Nabholz as the second choice and Key as the third choice. Commissioners said all three firms were qualified and that the ranking order reflected small differences in presentations and proposals.
Why it matters: The selection sets the procurement path for a major county capital project; the boards ranking determines the order of negotiation if the lead choice does not reach agreement.
Next steps: County staff will negotiate an agreement with Lyle Construction and return to the board if contract issues require further action.
