Lebanon swears in four elected officials; council elects Michelle Steinhable president

The sworn-in officials identified themselves as Dominic Conte, David McClain, Kenneth Jackala and Jeremy Salvage before repeating the oath: “I do solemnly swear that I will support the constitutions and the laws of the United States, the State of Oregon, and the Charter and Laws of the City of Lebanon, and that I will faithfully perform the duties of the office for which I have been elected.”
The council then moved to elect a council president. Councilor Michelle Steinhable was nominated and seconded; the council approved the nomination by voice vote. “Congratulations,” the mayor said after the vote.
The swearing-in and leadership election were handled near the start of the meeting; the mayor paused afterward for a brief photo break so family members could take pictures without staying through the full agenda.
The council did not take further formal action tied to the swearing-in during the session.
